An Accra High Court has sentenced a secondhand clothes dealer to 15 years imprisonment in hard labour for robbing and indecently assaulting a waitress of a hotel in Accra.

A Moroccan teen committed suicide after being forced to marry her rapist, who wed his victim in a bid to beat the system and evade prison

Amina Al Filali, 16, drank rat poison last week in Larache, near Tangiers in the north, said Fouzia Assouli, president of Morocco’s Democratic League for Women’s Rights.
The girl’s rapist had sought to escape prison by invoking an article of the penal code that he claimed would exonerate him if the rape victim was his wife.
Assouli deplored that the relevant article proclaims to defend family values, “but does not uphold the rights of women.”
Under Moroccan law, rape is punishable by five to 10 years in prison.

Man pours Hot Water on daughters private part for tasting soup

According to PM News, a 33 year old man, Mr. Solarin Muyiwa, (pictured above) poured hot water on the private part of his 14 year old daughter, because the young girl allegedly licked soup from the pot. He came home, his wife (the girls step mum) told him she caught the teenage girl licking soup from the pot and he reacted by beating her with a wooden stick, forcing her to put her hands in hot water and pouring some of it on her private part, damaging part of her vagina in the process. The incident happened about two weeks ago, in Ikorodu, Lagos.

A neighbour noticed what had happened to the girl and called the authorities. The father was arrested and the young girl was taken to the hospital, where she's currently undergoing treatment...

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked a Federal High Court in Abuja for an order compelling the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to revoke the licence of MTN Nigeria Communications Ltd.
